The question of privacy vs. security is not a new debate. Before the revolutionary war, British authorities had what was called the writs of assistance. This was permission from the king that allowed authorities to search any property and sieze what they want. This is why the fourth amendment was created. I have no problem with searches as long as the rules in the constitution are followed, ie. search warrant, judicial oversight. The constitution is a foundation of this country. Other countries like The People's Republic of China do not have guarenteed rights, (I think we all know what happens there) I think we can have freedom and be secure if we all take action, instead of sitting on our ass and expecting big brother government to do everything for us.
